Your Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to trainers forming strong opinions on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With numerous of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one thought naturally: How can connect this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being playful, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which only erupts when provoked. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a powerful ally; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted many trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for treats. Many past Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet tree sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wish to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to foresee an enemy’s future actions, which sounds quite like a people-smart Twins.
The Crab – Super Manectric
Cancer is commonly regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol known for often getting absorbed in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to make a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to select Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Players couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Lion offers to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The sign famous for being endearingly critical is clearly reflected across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a strategy.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Look at this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably benefit from Super Audino's abilities. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry more about others.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained consciousness through sheer resentment and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly small jester” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to display its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee disasters in advance? That gives the identical vibe as a Capricorn, who often always think they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very first Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-fire sign that is closest to a fire sign – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and converts it into strength.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
