Netflix Chooses Perfect Performer for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.

The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. This character can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and cartoon version.

The new cast member joins multiple fresh additions set to bring the organization to life, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Though this character is a key figure of Baroque Works, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Given the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the plot development.

The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on March 10, 2026.
