Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
