Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions this season because of a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate before starting her preparations for 2026.

Those preparations will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

She had her blood pressure taken in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the final set versus Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
